No

foo_input_apt-x100 decodes only * .AUD and * .AUE 5 channel.
If these files are 6 or 8 channel, it does not decode correctly.
Could this functionality be added?
If necessary, I would send the DTS Movie discs mentioned above.

      • .AUE I only have 5 channels
        I sent everything with Wetransfer

Thanks! What do you think is track order for 6 and 8 track records? For 5 track record it is: Lf Ls C Rs Rf ( LFE is synthesized from Ls and Rs) .

6 and 8 channel audio is DTS 70mm Special Venue.

Most will be 5 channels behind the screen: left, left center, center, right center, and right (once upon a time, known simply as channels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5), plus
6CH = a single surround channel (formerly "channel 6") that feeds all surround speakers the same information
8CH = left surround, right surround and subwoofer.

I put the new apt-x100 plugin in interim folder. Please check if it can open 5,6,8 track files in your system.

New apt-x100 can not play correctly.
    Neither original 5 channels.
At 6 and 8 track files is not displayed the correct time .

  • Maxim V.Anisiutkin

Do you know the real playing times for any 6/8 track file?

  • Maxim V.Anisiutkin

I pin the new one. On my system it sound Ok on Lf, Rf channels. But LFE chanlel seems to de at -10dB level. Do we need +10dB?

It's a difficult question. The tested films are a 70 mm film that did not have an LFE channel. So it's hard to say how the channel was doing. And I could not find any further information.
Plugin is fine, thank you very much. I'm going to test. If I could help, please contact me.

  • Maxim V.Anisiutkin

Please, download the newer one. I've changed track order for 8-track files. It seems to be like L Lc C Rc R LFE Ls Rs. Anyway, I hope to figure it out with the time.

    In exported WAV
    track marked Ls is Lc
    track marked Lc is Ls
    track marked Rs is Rc
    track marked Rc is Rs

  • Maxim V.Anisiutkin

I've made the order L Ls C Rs R LFE Lc Rc., please check.

Yes, export to WAV is now OK.
    Well thank you.

    • Maxim V.Anisiutkin

Yes, it could. Please, send me 6 and 8 track .AUE discs.

Unfortunately, the available 6 and 8 tracks are not AUE. All are AUD only.
Also all the new DATASAT I have are only AUD.
Is it interesting why? But it's a fact!

6 track .AUD and 5 track .AUE discs you've sent have the same DTS.EXE. Probably, it can do 6 or 8 track .AUE files. Ca be easily checked if you have access to DTS machine.

Just to let you know that version 1.2 and 1.3 do not decode correctly a 6 channel source (regular 5.1 movie, which was 5ch on the disk): LS and RS are seen as FL and FR. Thanks!

    Thanks,
However 99.9% of DTS cinema content was 5 channel (subwoofer was filtered off from surround channels).
6ch and 8ch were very special events which I never encountered in my 20y experience - ok, maybe once but we didn't get the disk! :)

  • Maxim V.Anisiutkin

Ok. We can revert to 1.1 version for 5 channel tracks and leave 6 and 8 channel mapping like in 1.3 then. Does it sound feasible?

    • Ivan Skoluda

      Ivan Skoluda - 2019-02-16

Yes, that's probably the best way

i am indeed on 1.1 but on 1.1 you cannot skip without losing the channel mapping. not that I'm complaining, you're doing a great job! just reporting to help
