Graphical interface is essential feature for common users. I suggest to write it in PyGTK, it's quite easy.

Yes, it would be nice to have an official GUI, but I don't have enough time to maintain the current code as it is, so I'm reluctant to start something new. I assume and hope that someone will fill this void, and there are already two GUIs out there at this point for dvd-slideshow as mentioned on the web page: slcreator and jdvdslideshow
