On ubuntu 9.04 with dvd-slideshow 0.8.2-0.0ubuntu2, there are 70 occurances of the parameter "-compose src-over", which causes the composite command to fail. removing that parameter allows the program to finish successfully. Not sure if this is the right way to submit a bug, hope it is.
