This kinda straddles the line between feature request
and bug report, based on an irc conversation with Olaf.
Background:
Extracted and edited a program from the tivo, with
output as both DVD/48000 and MPEG/no transcode.
For example, consider cuts as follows:
Cut Start 0:00
Cut Stop 1:00
Cut Start 2:00
Cut Stop 3:00
Cut Start 4:00
Cut Stop 5:00
...
Several more.
After processing, the new file works as expected in
WMP and PowerDVD (just a player).
With either type file mentioned above, importing the
processed file into MyDVD doesn't give the expected
results. MyDVD only "gets" the first "segment," that is,
in this case from 1:00-2:00. The other expected
segments are not there (i.e 2:00-3:00, 4:00-5:00, etc.)
From the IRC discussion with Olaf, the problem is
perhaps a MyDVD bug, where it can't handle a closed
GOP in the middle of a stream. Olaf's suggested
solution would be to have an option to NOT close the
GOP.
Sonic MyDVD ships with the rather popular Sony DRU-
500A/AX. Compatibility with MyDVD would certainly be
nice.
So, I guess the feature request is to have an option to
not close the GOP. I
