Problem with DSTCP Time-Series Simulation

    Hello,

    I am using OpenDSS-G V6.5.0.1 and I am experiencing an issue only with the time-series simulation (24-hour simulation using a Daily load shape).

    Static simulations work correctly. For example, if I manually change the irradiance or Pmpp and then execute Solve, the PV system produces the expected power.

    However, when I try to run a 24-hour simulation through the DSTCP protocol, the simulation time does not advance and the Daily load shape is not applied correctly. Although the PV parameters are successfully modified, the injected PV power remains almost constant throughout the simulation.

    I have also tried using Mode=Time, Mode=Daily, ControlMode=Time, and StepIn, but the simulation time still does not advance.

    Is there any additional command or procedure required to make the simulation time advance correctly when using DSTCP in OpenDSS-G V6.5.0.1? Is the StepIn() function or the openDSSGTCP.py library required for this feature?

      Hello,

      Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I took a look, and everything appears to be working as expected. I should mention that I’m currently using version 7, but I don’t recall making any changes to that part of the code when moving to the new version.
      I’m attaching a simple script you can use to verify the communication between DSS‑G and a remote client. You’re right that the simulation mode doesn’t refresh automatically after a DSS command is sent from a remote client, I’ll take care of that in version 7.2. That said, if you check the configuration, you’ll see that the simulation mode does update correctly based on the remote client’s command.
