Using the latest version of Vista Drive Icon, I noticed that it does not show the disk usage in My Computer for the drive that is encrypted with TrueCrypt. The encrypted drive is mounted, so it should have no problem determining disk usage.

    Dear user,

Vista Drive Icon version 1.3 was tested recently with all encryption types of TrueCrypt 4.3a, in both Windows XP and Windows Vista; And the mounted drives (either mounted as "normal" or "removable") had the correct icons shown.
Sometimes, on slower computers, it took more time for the icons to show (around 10 seconds). This was caused due to the late response of Windows to the application. In all other cases, icons were updated and shown correctly on time.

(The tests were performed on computers with diffrent hardwares and applications installed on them. All of these computers had TrueCrypt 4.3a and Vista Drive Icon 1.3 installed.)

    Armin.

It does show the icon for the drive. What it does NOT show, though, is the indicator as to how much disk space is used. See screen shot above.

System specs: 1.8GHz, 512MB RAM, Radeon 9600 Pro, XP SP2

I can watch that My Computer screen for several minutes and the indicator does not show. I can hit Refresh several times and it still does not show. This is using TrueCrypt 4.3a with the encrypted partition mounted.

    Any suggestions?

I'm not incredibly concerned about it, personally. I just noticed a bug and decided I should report it.

    Dear user,

Yes, I thank you in advance for reporting this bug. :)

I'm still working on this issue. I'll post updates on my progress. Fixing it might take a week or two.

issue: VDI does not get response from windows about the new drive on user's computer, to show the related icon.

    Thank you again.

    Armin.

    Hi Armin,

first of all, I have to compliment you on this piece of software, very very cool!

Now, regarding the TrueCrypt issue, there is a bug here. When mounting a TrueCrypt drive as "Regular" the icon shown is under the "Hard Disk Drives" category in My Computer. It does not show the disk space indicator, on top of that, the icon shown is the OS (system) drive.

When setting up TrueCrypt on mounting as "Removable Media" the icon shown is under the "Devices with Removable Storage" category in My Computer, the icon shown in this setup is the correct on although, the disk space indicator is still missing.

I'm really waiting for a new version. Great job!

    Roee,

    Israel

    Hey Admin,

    I've the same "problem".
TrueCrypt-Volumes show the correct icons but DON'T show the space used/unused.

I would be very glad to see this feature in a future-version of vdi.
