Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it was not helpful. That is exactly the issue I am experiencing. The PDF has been OCR and text is readable, but DropIt does not find it for some reason. This is by design. The counter is reset on every new run. So if you would run it on a batch of files, it would increase the count. If you run a next batch, it starts again from the beginning. I don't think there is another possibility to get arount this.

We use pdftotext to extract content from PDF files, i.e. you can use any OCR on your PDF documents to recognize content (e.g. from ScanSnap) and DropIt will use exactly that recognized texts for the further evaluation.

  • David Colbeth David Colbeth posted a comment on ticket #196

Hello Divinity, is there a better OCR program you are using? I scan all of my documents and the built in OCR service for ScanSnap used to be great but seems to be inadequate lately.

Yes, I have set date Modified instead (It is not always the correct date though). Would be great to have support for dateTaken! I have this issue in 8.5.1. Windows 10 x64. On every execution for a nano second I can see the execution window. It is also stealing focus, e.g. when I am typing in Notepad it steals focus when it processes files. I also disabled the "show progress video" option.

Hello, I still don't get it. I go to 2.Rules -> Additional Filters. Under "File Content" I want to filter the words in the file (Invoice) and (DHL). So my new Filename should be "Invoice_DHL.pdf". So "Invoice" is %FileContentMatch1% and "DHL" is %FileContentMatch2% ? But it won't work. Can you please give an example for %FileContentMatch1-9% ?? Thanks a lot.

6/4/2020, I think some recent windows update has broken it. It does run in the background but the icon is not visible on the taskbar so I cannot make any changes to the settings. It's been running for over a year now with no problems on Windows-10 Home, 64 bit.

I came here with the same problem. After minimizing app on Windows 10 I can't resore window, and becauce of that I can't move or close app's floating icon. This is makes Dropit hard to use. This bug did not happen on Windows 7.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #187

I also have the problem that DropIt will not start under Windows 10. On Windows 7 however, it works without any problem.

I got the same Problem. Could you elaborate? I could not find any help on that issue in the guide or the net. An example would help me a lot. Here is my setup so far: Under Additional Filters I tickted the Box "File Content" and chose "At least one of the words". In the text box underneath I entered search words like "invoice name1 name3" My Filename so far: ...path\%FirstFileContentDateNormalized% %FileContentMatch1% %FileContentMatch2% %FileContentMatch3% %Counter%.%FileExt% For that setup i got:...

Yes, it's possible (or was) if you edit a certain file that describes how dates should be expected. I added like 20 different ways, but then it started to confuse Month with Day in European format with American. Otherwise worked well.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #178

Same problem. It ends up moving a file from the main folder to the subfolder, which triggers a scan and then moves the file from the subfolder to the subfolder, creating an infinite loop (the name of the file just gets longer and longer because of the 01 appended everytime). Have followed the instruction on the link, with the option checked and the association added, does not help.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #178

Can you please tell us the ETA of the resolution?

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #171

Any update on this please? I have nested folders and want the top level folder association to ignore sub folder changes as I have defined associations for them.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on ticket #171

I have the same issue. Under Downloads folder I have created subfolder for PDF files and every time pdf file is added to Downloads it will be copied to Downloads\PDF\ and DropIt will ask if I want to overwrite the file with the same file. So this subfolder is processed (or scanned, what is the difference?) even I have tried to exclude the subfolder (Ignore ##) and tried all options combinations.

I'm having this same problem when trying to sort a few thousand jpegs. I didn't have any dramas when sorting about 50,000 jpegs last week, but it seems that this particular set has something different about it that triggers this error.

  • divinity666 divinity666 posted a comment on ticket #199

Well, I proposed a solution for that a few years ago, but it never made it to a release. I guess the only way to do something like this could be: - Monitor one folder and execute a Shell script on the new file - The shell script copies the file to the desired local path - Another one is monitoring the local path and uploads the file

I am wondering about this issue. I am still using it, and as long as the PDF files do contain text (e.g. via OCR), the text is being recognized properly. You might want to check the pattern configuration in the configuration file.

Okay, did some more testing, and it seems to be specific to the "Immediate on-change" option, which may explain why it doesn't appear in previous versions. Everything appears to work fine and normal with the time interval option, but "Immediate on-change" causes both the subfolder option to stop working and using %UserName% in place of my user name causes it to stop monitoring at all. Confirmed that it's the same for the portable version.
