Yep, finally I've debugged the kernel module for 2.4.x. Then another long time passed before I removed all of my debugging code and tidied it up. But now it has been released! See the files section for downloads.

I've started porting the kernel module xrm.o to the 2.4 kernel.
As you can imagine, there are major changes to the
kernel API between 2.0 and 2.4. I've got it compiling and
it can zero the wheels with basezero but Nrobot does
not appear to work. I expect to have it complete by
the end of October.

Now the reverse engineering of the XR4000 software is
complete (except for the simulator which I'm not going to do).

which contains the reverse-engineered and slightly bug-fixed code and xrdev-match-1.0.tgz (at http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/drobot/xrdev-match-1.0.tgz\)
which matches as closely as possible the Nomadics binaries.

I've finished the largest and most boring part of the work and now we have source for the Nrobot daemon. I've compiled this with newer libraries and tested it out a little bit (sonars, irs worked, robot moves when running swerve and dance_xr) but not extensively tested.

There are bugs in the Nomadics code which I've faithfully
reproduced. However, with the newer library it segfaults immediately unless these bugs are fixed. Since my aim is to develop a complete replacement with a decent design, I don't care. You have been warned!
