Now I'm stuck with the sentence " Select the Release build target and click the green arrow to the left of the drop down." What does it mean in Visual Studio 2019 Community Version right after the installation? I'm not familiar with Visual Studio at all, so an easy description of the necessary steps would be very appreciated.

You are right, I want only to listen to DRM stations using the Dream software. Actually, I'd like to compile the decoder library libfaad2.dll aka faad_drm.dll using Visual Studio Community version and I can't find a good description of the process.

I followed the instructions on https://drm.sourceforge.io/wiki/index.php/Instructions_for_building_the_AAC_encoder so far. I installed Visual Studio 2019 Community Version, downloaded the faac-1.28, downloaded the libfaac_drm and copied the files into the libfaac folder.

Hi Ronald. I don't have a Windows machine to hand but can I just check you want to transmit?
You don't need FAAC for just listening.

try https://www.rtl-sdr.com/tutorial-drm-radio-using-rtl-sdr/ or the latest 2.2 build doesn't need faad2 as it uses the new fdk-aac codec but it's not really working for everyone yet.
You can't even run Windows in a virtual machine to test on?? Seriously mate.
