What is the status of the DrJava Eclipse Interactions plugin? Will it work with Eclipse Indigo (i.e., the latest release, April 2012)?

It seems that the plugin available for download is rather old, referring to Eclipse 2.1 (which is long gone).

I would like to know, because I am considering to use it in a course that I will teach.

The DrJava project has very limited resources. If I can find a student who is interested in updating the plugin to run with Indigo, a new version of the plugin may be forthcoming But do not count on it. Our highest priority at this point is developing variants of DrJava for Scala and Habanero Java.
