Hi
My tech department is having difficulty installing dr Java on our machines. We have previously had these kind of problems when installing software because of the way our network security is set up.
We are running Windows XP professional 5.1
The error message we get after we install dr Java is:
An error occurred in Dr Java
edu.rice.cs.util.UnexpectedException:java.io.IOException: //rec-dc1 is not a valid directory and all attempts to locate a valid directory have failed. Check your configuation.
Any suggestions would be most welcome
Thank you

Hi:
Is there a stack trace for the UnexpectedException that you can provide us? Please try to give us more system information, e.g. what version of the JDK you are running. Does DrJava start at all? If it does, please click on the "Help" menu, click on "About", then on the "System Properties" pane, and then on the "Copy System Properties". That will copy information into your clipboard.
Without additional information, it will be difficult to find the error. I suspect it has to do with the way UNC paths are treated (i.e. paths starting with //computername).
