I have the jdk1.5.0 installed, and Eclipse is able to make
use of it just fine. I downloaded the Dr Java executable,
and it gives me an "Executable Error" complaining
"This program requires the Java Runtime Environment.
Please download at http://java.sun.com/getjava"
Why should I need the JRE when I have the JDK?

Your message is a bit confusing. Let me see if I understand you correctly:
1. You are able to successfully use Eclipse with the DrJava plugin
2. When you are running DrJava standalone (w/o eclipse) you get the error you
mentioned above
What Operating System are you using? Is the JDK1.5.0 installed with the default
paths, or is stored in an alternate directory?
