Hi I have been running XFree86-4.0.1-43 from rawhide (modified to actually getting tdfx to work :-). I have had no problems running Q3A, Sof, Descent3 etc. with a very nice performance. Then I tried running OpenGL apps through wine. First I ran Half-life/Counter-strike and got very stange results without any texture. Examples: http://www.student.dtu.dk/~c948114/cs1.gif http://www.student.dtu.dk/~c948114/cs2.gif At first I thought it was a wine bug, but then I tried the TreeMark demo from NVidia, which is known to work, and I got the same results. Ok, then I checked out the latest DRI stuff (today) and recompiled wine (just in case). Now the TreeMark demo works accelerated but Half-life/counter-strike is still the same results as above. My conclution to this is that there is something missing or a bug DRI/tdfx/libGL, because both TreeMark and Half-life is working file with libGL/GLX from NVidia (I can't help being a bit envious a the guys running half-life in wine with the same performance as in Windows) My software: RH 6.2 / latest DRI / linux-2.4.0-test8 glide from linux.3dfx.com + g3ext.h My Hardware: Dual celeron / voodoo 3 3500 Any ideas? Thanks Lars BTW I'm using the Default OpenGL drivers in Half-life not the 3dfxgl.dll ones. -- Lars Munch Christensen <c9...@st...> |
