Once again, you've brought me a step closer. Quake3-based games load fine now, though they're extremely slow (syncing every frame helps but even then it's far slower than it should be on a V5). Also, they won't occupy the full screen unless i tell them to use 1600x1200 resolution, and I'm sure that's slowing it a bit. I was wondering if the Verto was Linux supported. 3dfx.com mentions a deal where you can trade in old Voodoos and get a Verto. I'm thinking of doing that and getting the GeForce 3 Verto Ti500.
