I followed it quite loyally and ran in to following problems. -- [epa@soulless epa]$ uname -a Linux soulless 2.2.14 #1 Tue Feb 29 18:43:51 EET 2000 i586 unknown -- From "exports/lib/modules/extensions" directory all other libraries were installed but libextmod.a (this seems to have been broken since 3.9.16 where I think it installed properly.) The tfdx.o module was not built because of the kill_fasync function. it seems that there is extra argument to that function now but it is not in my 2.2.14 version. It seems that 2.2.14 which is from redhat has this patch but kernel that I got from kernel.org does not. this was also easy to fix with #if LINUX_VE... -> #if 1 also in installation I left su away. but afterwards I did -- chown root:root /<ProjectRoot/bin/XFree86 chmod 4711 /<ProjectRoot/bin/XFree86 -- and X seems to work nicely. Is there actually any reason other files would have to be owned by root? I also tried heretic2_demo and it seems to work nicely with textures and stuff. Might be worth a buy but I think I can wait for SoF from loki. Thanks to all dri devel ppl. This was most painless cvs update so far :) PS. what was the performance testing program that was used by Dieter? -- Janne |
