Hello Martin: Martijn Houtman wrote, > Hmm, a Rage Fury. Do you happen to see 'snow' in the screen as well? Snow while running an OpenGL app? No. Even otherwise, the display is as good as it gets. Know something, i have had this card fot over a year now and today is the first time that i actually ran an OpenGL app (xmms OpenGL plugin) and it was smoooth :) I am so happy. Previously, my machine used to reboot in under 10 secs after i start any OpenGL app. I think this has got to do something with the new ATI code DRI code fix which went into CVS a week(?) back. Thanx guys. Time to quake ;-) > Option "AGPMode" "2" That did the trick. Now to benchmark it. Ugh, gears segfaults. Lemme put in Quake. I was thinking that the "AGPMode" option applied only to the mga driver. Dope! > is what I have. Yet when I enable AGP 2x in BIOS, DRI makes my X server > hang. Will verify that out as soon as i get some sort of benchmarking app available. > > I have enabled frame buffer on the ATI. > > Works fine here. I tried recompiling gears but it dies. [shanu@godzilla shanu]$ ldd /usr/local/bin/gears /usr/bin/ldd: line 1: 9636 Segmentation fault (core dumped) LD_TRACE_LOADED_OBJECTS=1 LD_WARN= LD_BIND_NOW= LD_LIBRARY_VERSION=$verify_out LD_VERBOSE= "$file" [shanu@godzilla shanu]$ I tried compiling it but i get lots of "undefined reference" errors - $ cc gears.c -I/usr/include -L/usr/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lglut -lGLU -lGL -o gears /tmp/ccTjSYaK.o: In function `gear': /tmp/ccTjSYaK.o(.text+0x1255): undefined reference to `sin' /tmp/ccTjSYaK.o(.text+0x1280): undefined reference to `cos' /tmp/ccTjSYaK.o(.text+0x12d9): undefined reference to `sin' /tmp/ccTjSYaK.o(.text+0x1304): undefined reference to `cos' [...] What am i missing to include? > > Is there any another way to benchmark 3d performance?
