Multihead does not work with the PCI Voodoo3 as my secondary video card. In fact If I take out the AGP card the linux kernel will not even boot with the Voodoo3, no text from the kernel. A windows boot disk did work. I have tried linux-2.2.14, and linux-2.3.99-pre2. The Voodoo3 is visible in /proc/pci, and the X server starts dual head without freezing, but does not initialize the Voodoo3. I am truly puzzled by the PCI Voodoo3 not even booting text mode w/ linux. My only thought is that the AGP slot, even without a card is reserved a 64MB window. So the PCI video card is not where linux expects it. BUT linux should NOT hardcode the address, as even the windows boot disk worked with the Voodoo3 as primary :/ -Adam Scislowicz <ad...@fo...> |
