It's a pain. We have configured it to only compile the server (not all the libraries and applications) but that's still 1/2 hour on a PIII-550. We'd like to figure out how to limit this to smaller chunks, but we haven't done all the work/documentation to figure it out. You don't really need to do everything. You could just cd to the top level and do a 'make World' then wait for it to start compiling parts of the tree. (It starts by compiling a few bootstrap programs, then it does a clean, make includes and make depend, then starts compiling) Once that's done stop it, go to the GL directory and do a make. That should be substantially quicker. - |Daryll |
