I have heard that eventually both heads will be able to use DRI, right now only one is DRI enabled and the other one does software rendering. Is there an eta on this or did I hear incorrectly? As far as I've read on this list, the second head will not support hardware accelerated 3D any time soon due to the lack of a hardware cursor (which DRI requires), among other issues. Regardless, you won't be able to use 3D acceleration at all if you use the Xinerama extension. Maybe someday.. > 2. I have 2 21" monitors hooked up, but I can only get one of them to do 1600x1200, the other one won't go above 1280x1024. I used to think it was because of my KVM switch, but I removed it and still have the same problem. Is this a limitation of the card? I know both monitors can do 1600x1200 fine. Nope -- the driver assumes the second head is limited to something like 112MHz or thereabouts. The last time I checked it out (a week or two ago) it looked like there had been some progress in identifying the actual RAMDAC speed, but it wasn't enough. Hack mga_driver.c to use 230000 instead of 112000 wherever that line is. That'll get you 1600x1200 on the second head. I haven't actually tried 1600x1200 on my second head, but can get 1280x1024 at 85Hz no problem. Jeff -- Jeff Brubaker - jt...@jt... - http://jtb.dyndns.org/ |
