Hi, I just upgrades kernel 2.4-test8 to kernel 2.4-test10. Bying a sattisfied user of the xfree4.0.1 with the modules that kernel 2.4-test8 provided, I don't like to upgrade anything on this part. This however seems not possible and the kernel upgrade seems to force me to upgrade my xfree installation. This seems to me a very bad thing, although there will certainly be some good arguments for this. In the kernel Changelog I don't see an entry on this as either :-( One argument agains this is of course that I don't have to time to sort out how to get DRI compiled on my machine. Should I use kgcc and where can I set this ?! Basically I spend all the time I had to compile DRI without success and I'm now back to kernel 2.4-test8, just because of this (to me) minor DRM problem. Did anyone have success in compiling DRI on redhat7 ? Are there any new RPMS for Xfree that are updated for this ? -- Marcel Janssen |
