Hi, Well, I've just about had it with intermittent hangs on my MGA G400MAX. :) The hangs only occur when exiting SDL programs. The SDL program exits cleanly, its window disappears, and bang, system is hard locked. No mouse, load monitor frozen, Ctrl-Alt-Bksp doesn't get rid of X, Alt-Sysrq-S-U-B does nothing, no response from network. It's hung as solid as I have seen anything hang. Upon rebooting, since filesystem wasn't synced, some files that were open at the time end up with garbage in them. (my reiserfs doesn't journal the data). Since there is no information to be gotten from the kernel or anything else, how should I go about tracking this down? Here is what I know: 1) It only happens when exiting SDL programs 2) The programs it has been observed with are all Quake-engine programs (quakeforge, quake2, hexen2).. has never happened with UT for example. I have corresponded with another person who has the intermittent issue, but I also know other people with mga cards who have never had problems of any sort. Any tips would be appreciated.
