It seems to happen only with line smoothing enabled, but is coupled to an intermittant depth clipping problem where solid objects do not obscure lines or bitmap text as they should. Bad frames exhibit both problems. The clipping problem occurs whether or not line smooth is on. It seems like maybe the Z buffer or Z test is getting randomly corrupted. I don't have a simple demo source. It occurs in the closed-source crystallography program "O". I will try to put some demo source together. For now, I'm attaching a picture from the same app illustrating both errors. Neither error occurs with Mesa rendering. The bad frames are only about 1 out of 30. Also, the errors don't occur for all blend modes.
