[Dri-users] glxinfo reports success but programs just give black area

Hi all-

Running debian testing, vanilla 2.4.21.  Radeon 7500 QW on asus
a7v-ht133.

for (what I think) is all the pertinent info.  Basically everthing looks
good, but when I run a GL app, what I'll call the "dri area" of the
screen simply turns black.  glxgears will sit and report framerates, no
errors, but no display (window decorations are drawn..).  When I kill it, 
the "dri area" remains black, and is not redrawn, unless I force it to be 
by e.g. draggins a window over the area.

If there is some info I left out, please let me know I'll update.

My goal here is to a totally stock testing box, as this is a
friends machine, not my own.  It seems I ought to be able to, as no
tests produce errors.  If not, I can deal with it, but like I said, it'd
be nice.
