This is perhaps a deal with kernel 2.4.1. I have tried 2.4.1, and 2.4.1ac13 with both the kernel supplied emu10k1 drivers and the ones from creative. Another person has told me of the same problem and he started with the alsa drivers. This has been varified with quakeforge over and over. The rune beta also has problems with sblive and dri, but this may be due to openAL bugs. I have compiled CVS DRI, mesa, etc so everything seems to work on all untill i am using the sound device with the mp3 player at the same time. Here are some system stats: voodoo3 3000 dual 550mhz X4.0.2 + CVS DRI sblive value Hope this info is enough, if not email me jo...@op... or stop by #loki on op.n and I should be there.
