Bug #126600, was updated on 2000-Dec-21 07:34 Here is a current snapshot of the bug. Project: Direct Rendering Infrastructure Category: MGA X Server Status: Open Resolution: None Bug Group: X Server Hang/Core Dump Priority: 5 Submitted by: vortechs Assigned to : nobody Summary: G400 hangs XFree86 4.0.2 when running OpenGL Details: X will hang if I run an OpenGL application (windowed or non-windowed) and I hit peak CPU load. It doesn't do this if the CPU stays low enough. The reason I noticed this is that I have a cpu monitor up and running, and when I run my windowed OpenGL app and X freezes, the CPU is consistantly at peak. I get no feedback about what caused X to lock. The screen freezes and I can't change VTs. I *can* ssh in to the box and do things and reboot the system. The Magic Sysrequest keys work as well. Is there any way to turn some debugging on? I would like to see what is going on with this, but can't figure out how to do so. Hooking a serial cable up and piping the console to a different computer doesn't show anything either. I have had this problem with the agpgart/mga modules from linux-2.4.0-test10 - test12. It is extremely reproducable. If I do not load these modules and the apps run in software mode, everything is fine. My current setup is as follows (Let me know if more information is needed): ~> lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.
