I used expert mode. Without opening any video, I simply
clicked the basic tab (accidently!) and the window
disappeared!!
Also another problem while previewing MPG files.
Dr.Divx crached when I drag that bar in the previeing
window. Ifound this only for MPG files...

Wow, nice bug !!!
#1 will be fixed in the next build (beta 8). The other one
might be fixed already. Otherwise can you try to upload a
sample file ?
