Nowadays, users of SDR technologies are interested in mobile computers with low power consumption and high efficiency, so x86-64 processors are losing popularity, everyone wants to have a mobile SDR kit that works quickly and at the same time uses up the battery efficiently. An SDR kit that can be carried is more convenient than a stationary one; now it is better to assemble an effective system based on a single-board computer in a plastic case than to carry around a laptop with a bunch of wires...

yes sir, right now the combination of orange pi 5 and armbian is very popular, the operating system is very fast and light, I just installed it on orange pi 5 after many tips, and if now you create a new generation of dragonos on this basis, it will be fantastic, the range of users will be very expand, this will be a step towards a more modern and faster system

thank you for your answer, you have a very interesting project and I’m interested in SDR, but the biggest problem is that besides gqrx I can’t install any software for SDR on orange pi 5, now many people choose orange pi 5 because of its power, efficiency, and amount of RAM and built-in M.2, this single-board computer is superior to most of its analogues, it is very popular now, but most SDR software is not adapted to it

Forgot to say, you mentioned Orange Pi5. My point is that I would have to start with an OS that boots on it. Neither the x86_64 or aarch64 build i use can do that.

Hello. So it’s not really so much about kernel as it is about the specific processor being used. DragonOS FocalX is for x86_64. DragonOS Pi64 is using 22.04 built for and around Pi. To the best of my knowledge a Pi OS only boots and runs on the Pi (Broadcom). A quick search again reminds me of this “Ubuntu 22.04 is available for Orange Pi 3B, and you can download the image from the Ubuntu-rockchip project on GitHub.The project aims to provide a default Ubuntu 22.04 experience for Rockchip RK3588...

It complains that I’m “restarting it too fast”. I must have tried like 10 different approaches. Hello, I've had trouble in the past (on other Linux Distros) where if the correct version of LimeSuite isn't installed, the SDR won't pass the self tests. Every time it has been some sort of driver/package issue it seems. When I run SoapySDRUtil --find, I am able to find the Lime but I receive an error with sdrplay_api_Open(). I saw the note about the SDRPlay API under other, but I cannot find it. I have also already run "sudo apt update/upgrade" so most other dependencies should be up to date.

Hello. You installed DragonOS Pi64 and logged in to a background that looks like a motherboard? The applications you are looking for are located under the menu button, bottom left, and then look at Other or Ham Radio. At the command line you can launch using gqrx or CubicSDR. You mention find, as in find at the command prompt? You could instead use which gqrx or which CubicSDR in a terminal if you want to see where they are installed.

I finally got DragonOS installed and working with my Cariboulite. However, I am not finding any of the SDR apps (e.g. CubicSDR, Gxrx, etc.). I even fid a find / and none were found. Where did I go wrong?

Change to desktop with ssh, open the getting starter guide and go down to line 16 assuming you don’t have a monitor or hdmi dummy plug hooked up. Make the changes and reboot, use realvnc to connect briefly to the pi and log into the desktop. Right click network manager and see if you can see networks. I don’t know what you’ve tested previously, but I’m assuming you’ve tested this very same pi setup in the location it’s in before and saw WiFi? Just trying to narrow down what may be happening. What...

You shouldn’t need wpa supplicant file, you just use network manager bottom right area of desktop. I guess I didn’t ask/you didn’t mention how exactly you’re trying to connect. Are you doing it command line? Right click network connection manager bottom area of task bar and networks are listed. Put password in and connect. I just tried on the Pi and Wpa2 and had no issues connecting. Now perhaps if you’re trying to flash the Pi and preconfigure it to connect to your WiFi without using desktop manager,...

I’m not so much concerned with how you burnt the image, but my understanding is that you have your pi4 booted with DragonOS running on it and that you’re trying to use the internal WiFi on the Pi (no usb WiFi etc)? With the WiFi of the Pi you are unable to connect to your home network? Is your home network 2.4ghz, 5Ghz, encrypted? I’m just trying to see if I can replicate your issue.
