I've downloaded DragonOS_FocalX_R28.iso and verify checksum.
After I'm booting on baremetal, I can see this error:
[FAILED] Failed to start MariaDB 10.6.11 database server, and booting is stop.

If I use "checkdisk for defects option", I can see many same erorrs.
[FAILED] Failed to start MariaDB 10.6.11 database server, and booting is stop.
[FAILED] Failed to start MariaDB 10.6.11 database server, and booting is stop.

On VirtualBox I have same error, but after a few minutes it booting.

Hello. This is a known problem for the newer version of MariaDB when running live. No easy way to resolve yet, but it’s only an issue when running live. Once installed and not running live, either bare metal or in a VM it will start.

I’ll have to find the article on this and share.

I should’ve asked, but you’re able to install still? It should proceed past and fully boot.

After looking at this more i may have a solution for future ISOs. If for some reason you are unable to get to the installer/desktop, please let me know. Tomorrow I will try to make a special ISO with a possible solution for MariaDB and running live.

    Hello.
    Thank you for your answer.
I want to install it on my notebook. But before installing I need boot and run install file from desktop. How I can do it?
Or I can install DragonOS_FocalX_R27.1.iso and upgrade it?

This is what I suspect may be happening. Even with the 27 version you will see the warnings, however I don’t think that’s what is keeping you from booting as you seen in the Vm it does boot.

Can you try this. Boot your notebook again. Once it boots and after you see warnings try and push ctrl alt f2. See if you can drop to a terminal and login with username live and no password.

I think if this works we can perform a workaround.

Hi, I also see boot problems with R28.iso In my case I can get it to boot after a while on bare metal, in VMPlayer it just silebntly hanges there consumming 100% of a CPU. I was able to install an earlier version in the same VM. I also tried making a bootable USB from the ISO and that worked bare metal, but I could convince VMPlayer to boot from that either. I think the iso is ok, just the DB app.

ok bit of an update. VMplayer in linux won't boot the iso correctly. VMplayer in Windows will!
So the install got past the first part. It now seems stuck in a loop with mariadb failing. I've tried to skip over but it is still stuck in the same loop. I will try a bar metal install on a different laptop.

i have not actually tested it myself, but can you give this a try? I have tried to resolve the db issue on a live boot.

Also, how much ram are you allocating to the Vm in both cases?

Hi the VM had 8G or 4G of memory. I tried both. The current baremetal install is not going well, after about an hour, I still see msgs from MariaDB trying to start. It's an old laptop I'm trying with a I5 Cpu and 4G ram, it did however finally finish and is rebootable. :) Just updated stuff and will now try a SDR.

I just checked the new ISO I made with a small fix for MariaDB and now see that even when it’s live booted, the service starts. This should speed things up for others. Once I finish a new ISO I will make it available to all.

Great to hear you got it installed now!

Hi ok good to know. I've tried a few different SDRs, there seems to be a problem with the sdrplay driver or miri driver. Hackrf and RTLSDR both worked ok. SDRplusplus has a runtime issue as it will crash on startup. Also noticed not all apps see the SDR i think. The Soapy drivers seem old as well. I'm running version 0.8 on my main laptop.
I tried to download from the link you provided. First time I got unauthorised, 2nd time just now file is missing. Do you have a script to build the ISO?

ISO is moved here w/ only a few changes.

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1X-NAxJFIN9XNheomV-69aHwJTWQK9t2U

To answer your questions. The SDRPlay driver is the v3 api - latest, not tested on anything besides offical SDRPlay equipment. I don't have a miri type device nor use the miri driver that I know of, although I think it's included.

Soapy drivers are v8 if you're using the DragonOS FocalX ISO. SoapySDRUtil will show you the info.

SDR++ will crash on loading of the hackrf if you have no first unloaded the Soapy module in the module manager bottom left. Now if you are saying SDR++ just crashes period, open up a terminal and start it with sdrpp. It's possible your laptop may have a graphical issue.

Hmm, besides that, make sure the hackRF is loaded with the 2022 or higher firmware. When you mention not all apps see the SDR, which ones specifically and which SDR? Varies from program to program as to how to load.

ok, so I got "test-1 version" installed on a baremetal machine as well as a Vbox VM. I couldn't get VMplayer to boot the image, not sure why, as the earlier 1s use to be ok in this regard.

There does seem to be an issue with the SDRplay driver. Some apps see the device while others don't. No apps seems to be able to make the SDR work correctly. A little investigation revealed that the msi2500 module and msi001 need to be black listed. That makes things a little better but still not working correctly.

Some good news it seems, although not sure about VMplayer as nothing changed except the fix for the db. How earlier of versions do you mean? I'll have to try VMplayer here.

Not sure which SDRPlay hardware you have, those who have the RSP1A and other line of newer/offical SDRPlay equipment haven't had an issue (I use the RSP1A here). Which device do you have? I recall someone having some hardware that needed the modules black listed, something like what you're saying, but I can't recall specifically.

Also grabbed the latest VMplayer for Linux and had no issue booting and running the test ISO. I made sure to select Ubuntu 64 after selecting the ISO. Not sure what would've happned on your end.
