good morning, in the meantime I thank Mr. Cemaexecuter, for the splendid work he carries out, I kindly asked for help, because I can't install dragon os in a partition of the pc next to windows, I can only install it on virtual machine.
If I try to install, ubuntu, lubuntu, kali next to windows I can, if I try with dragon os I can't, I loaded the iso as I do with kali, ubuntu, lubuntu, but nothing starts the installation and then it always crashes on check after memory check giving me various errors, usually to load the iso I use rufus / whale etcher etc .., but nothing, I also tried to disable the secure boot but nothing, on 2 different notebooks I can not. I ask for help please, thank you

Enable UEFI, write ISO as DD.
Boot in live, double tap on installation-icon and follow the installation guide.
I installed DragonOS in dual-boot on two laptops without any problem.
Probably you are doing something wrong.

    Best Regards

Good morning, for now the way I'm making the ISO and the way the installer works does not support secure boot as far as I know. I sort of understand why, but haven't fixed it yet.

I haven't recently tried a dual boot, but I have in the past and it worked. The installer supports both UEFI and legacy boot, but you have to first set the laptop to what you want before installing.

Can you perhaps screen shot or share the error you're seeing? I'm assuming you mean you're able to boot the live installer, run the installer till the end, reboot, then you see the error as the grub boot menu is coming up?

@cemaxecuter first of all, really thankful for all your posts and detailed videos. DragonOS is one of the best tool for all SDR lovers. I am facing a small issue regarding dual boot. I have successfully installed DragonOS along with already existing Windows 10. A separate EXt4 partition was created and all installation went quite well. However, after restart, the system is directly booting into Windows without any Grub-bootloader or any other options to boot from. The system is directly going in to Windows. So how can I resolve this issue, so that I may have a Grub or any other bootloader to opt between Windows and DragonOS. Best regards and thank you.

Hi is there an issue with the GUI boot ?
when I install the OS from USB on my all in one PC all i see is this

    GNU GRUB version 2.02~beta2-9ubuntu1

Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions.

    grub> _

I've gone through a few steps to get it going but with no luck yet am i doing some thing wrong ?
it keeps asking to load kernel first
    grub> linux /vml doesn't seem to work
grub> initrd /in doesn't seem to work seem to work either

I'm at a lost with this, its been so long playing with linux command line, I wish to use the OS for the Ham radio programs DragonOS has to offer

Any help would be great, cheers

It’s very and highly likely your download is corrupt. That’s typically what I see when this occurs. You can attempt to download again, check hash, and reburn to a usb as a double check.

    cheers Cemaxecuter
I've re download ISO from sourceforge and not from https://cemaxecuter.com/ this time and I've downloaded a file called WinHasher, the SHA1 seems to be the same, I'm going to burn to DVD this time and not create a USB boot

I will let you know how I go

Still showing the grub on reboot, I seen it install grub from the desktop OK and I've burn it to DVD, I've turned my bios to IDE and not ACHI, only other thing I can try is load the DVD to use UEFI instead of Legacy boot, I'm using DragonOS_FocalX_R33.iso

That seem to work by booting off UEFI instead of Legacy boot using a DVD, just need to change my host name cuz it's way to long, then I can do the updates and starting playing round with the Ham Radio software

I didn’t know you were trying via DVD. I’ve never seen that work that I can recall, usually needs to be a USB that you burn the iso to with something like etcher.

So you did get it to work by using a DVD? That’s interesting.

Cemaexecuter, Yes it worked OK, I download update's too via desktop app and change the hostname via CLI.

Yes I had to boot using UEFI but in the bios it was or is IDE and Secuity boot turned off, hit F9 since its a HP desktop and boot from UEFI DVD and it installed OK, I did create a USB using the etcher software just in case.

    cheers
