This is far from perfect, but it's the current way I'm trying to push out updates for DragonOS FocalX. This will help cut down on reinstalling the latest ISO as I try to keep everyone in sync by pushing updates out with this PPA.

    Gary,

Can you download this, mark it executable if needed with chmod +x
    https://github.com/alphafox02/focalx_ppa/blob/main/SDRplay_RSP_API-Linux-3.14.0.run

and you should be able to do a ./SDRplay_RSP_API-Linux-3.14.0.run

I think it's more so just looking for the newer sdrplay api and in the process dying since you do not have it.

What's the best way to update the WarDragon hardware with the latest DragonOS? I have no need to keep existing files. Fresh install from the iso?

      Scott,

I’m actually coming up with a plan for that now. You see, on the WarDragon I do additional configuration that’s not in the normal ISO.

Normally updates would just come from the repo I’ve created, but I did some big changes with GNU Radio and other applications in such a way I’ve not figured out the best way to update over the air yet.

What I’m thinking of doing is creating a restorable image and offering it for download to WarDragon owners with specific directions or offering that i personally reconfigure the hard drive for free with someone only needing to ship me a compatible nvme drive with return shipping that they can slap in their system.

      Thoughts?

There’s nothing preventing you from installing the latest DragonOS to the WarDragon it just wouldn’t have all those post configuration changed and tweaks specific to the hardware. I’ll see how I can make some kind of script that’d make all the adjustments and install everything on a stock DragonOS in the future.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, the hardware-specific tweaks are what make the WarDragon so great, imho. I like the idea of a restorable image with instructions. A second nmve drive might serve as a way to maintain a backup of anything on the original drive or to experiment, which could be helpful... But, for me, an image of the latest build with the hardware tweaks would work. Thanks!

I’ll be back from a little vacation in about a week. I’ll dd the setup on my end into an img and you/I can see how it restores on a drive. I’m thinking you’d have to live boot in order to dd the image back to your onboard nvme drive.

There’s also clonezilla, I’ll see what makes the most sense.
