OGRE was a bit too involved, too hard to learn, and was LGPL'd anyway. Gonna try to survive without it for now. If we need it later, its only on the client side anyway so it shouldnt be too hard.
I just got the latest version of ODE ( 0.7 ) and I think triangle mesh collisions is working, but i dont know because the new version doesnt compile against the current code.
Began completely redesigning the entire project. Hope to have a working skeleton with physics and graphics soon, and I expect this to be a suitable framework for the game.
yeah. So I dont know if I will have any time to work on this in the next few months, but if I do, we are totally switching to using the ogre3d graphics library. This may force us to dynamically link, but i'm willing to do that for now.
We have an SVN server. We've actually had one available for quite some time now; I just didn't notice because you had to enable it in the project admin thing. But thats ok now. I will soon begin putting code in it and filling in other details on sf.net, etc.
I registered this account because sourceforge.net advertised SVN servers as one of their services, but that is apparently in some kind of closed beta.
Therefore, come back when Sourceforge turns on the SVN servers. Unless you really want to help. Then email me or something. We definately need artist-type people.
