We would like to think so, but the path to this end will be long and hard - serviceability is not a high priority for the kernel organisation. However, there is an intermediate step to this end, which we are actively pursuing; this comprises lobbying the distributors to accept serviceability value add items into their offerings. Those distros targeting market places for whom serviceability and more generally RAS is important are tuning in. We would expect to make some progress with this soon. Is there any chance (LTT/Dprobes) to be merged into Linus's linux? If not, why? If yes, when? Do you have any hints? What distributions will/do have LTT/Drpobes? Please CC to me, since I don't subscribe the mailing lists. Thanks in advance, Hiro _______________________________________________ Dprobes mailing list Dp...@ww... http://www-124.ibm.com/developerworks/oss/mailman/listinfo/dprobes |
