PC Home/End doesn't work with Remote Desktop

I have been using DoubleCommand to provide PC Style Home/End keys. While this works fine on my Mac, when I connect to a Windows PC using Remote Desktop Connection or VNC the Home and End keys don't work for the remote computer. When I turn the option off in DoubleCommand the it works for the remote machine.

Any idea why this happens and if there is a work around for it?

      This is expected.

On the Mac, here's how it works.

Left and right arrow keys move left and right one character.
Hold Option while pressing arrow, you move one whole word.
Hold Command while pressing arrow, you move one whole line.

Up and down arrow keys move up and down one line.
Hold Option and you move a whole page.
Hold Command and you move a whole document.

Hold Shift while pressing any of the above and you select as you move.

The Home and End keys relatively new, and they are right next to the Page up and Page down keys and also aligned vertically (Home is above End). So the Home and End keys jump to the start or finish of the document.

In order to make Home and End jump from the start and finish of a line instead, I've replaced the Home and End keypresses with Command Left and Right arrow keypresses. But this means that when you're using VNC, you are sending Command left and right arrow keys to the remote machine rather than Home and End. And of course when you turn off the feature you start sending the Home and End keys through again and it works.

        Hi there,

I truly like the feature of changing the Home and End behavior to be like on the PC (in fact, that's the reason why I installed DoubleCommand, and it's the only feature I'm using). In particular I like that this works with Thunderbird ;-)

However, there's something missing: when using the Home and End keys on the PC with the command key, you jump to the beginning or end of the document (or e-mail ;-) ). I use this all the time on the PC, but it doesn't work on the Mac - not even with DoubleCommand.

Is there any way to change this?

Btw, the command + left and command + right don't work in Thunderbird. Generally, the default Mac behavior doesn't seem to work in Thunderbird.

        Kind regards,
        Jashan

It won't work with any Windows environment, most importantly virtual machines.  I guess this calls for application-specific mappings.
