The wiki you are working on doesn't allow unapproved bot operation. You need an account with special bot rights to edit pages there. Ask bureaucrat of that wiki to grant you bot rights.

I've got the same error sometimes, even though the account being used has bot rights.
I can't figure out why, it only happens about 2% of the time. I'm trapping the exception but there's nothing to be learned from it, it just says bot operations are not allowed for that account (even though they are).
Might be something to do with the latest wiki versions?

Ok, yes, I think I understood why. Even though the bot is a sysop as well, it seems ConfirmEdit overthrows every permission when one is adding URLs, unless, of course, one configures ConfirmEdit not to do it.
Which I did right now, but still testing whether that solves it.
Excessive security by default, I say ... asking a captcha out of a sysop makes no sense.

When I try to save my page, it throws a Bot operation is not allowed error. How can I overcome this?
THanks, Mike

Are you talking about www.guiadebolsa.com?
This Exception is thrown only when input "wpCaptchaWord" parameter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAPTCHA) is required on wiki to save changes.
