In the DOSBOX networking how-to, one could do packet-level networking in DOS with Linux if slattach and socat are run. The slattach utility converts the ethernet protocol to slip and ethersl.com for DOS converts slip back to ethernet.
If somehow the slattach can be built into dosbox for windows, then hopefully one can connect their internet adapter to dosbox and in dos the internet can be accessed ethernet style via ethersl.com
To test the end result, use Michael Brutman's mTCP stack for DOS and see if you can connect to the internet. mTCP stack has ping and htget that allow you to test pings and webpage fetches.
