you can have such information by setting the overlay console command to "kahmfse" (I'm not sure if it is documented)
the default is "kahmf"
's' is for secrets and 'e' for ennemies ;)
I'm not sure if there is a good reason for the black color, probably because it would looks nearly like dark gray (which is basicaly black with some specular lighting on the shoulders).

I have a few suggestions that I think would make Legacy a little better.
I think it would be cool if when you turned on the automap, it could show you how many enemies have been killed, and how many secrets found. Example:
Enemies Killed: 27/193
Secrets Found: 2/5
Or something like that.
Also, is there a reason why black isn't a choice for your color?
