    Thank you for the update.
    Two points:
    * Please use literal UTF-8 characters instead of \u.... (This is a change of policy from 20 years ago when UTF8 was not widely supported by text editors. It makes the code easier read.)
    * Two files must be translated for each language: one in docutils/languages, the other in docutils/parsers/rst/languages. → Could you revise both?

Please use literal UTF-8 characters instead of \u....

I am aware that the \u... constructs are currently still present in ca.py as well as many other Docutils language modules.
However, a general review and update of the module seems the right time to switch to literal characters.

    some more points:

    • in the docinfo, we use "authors:" and comma- or semicolon-separated author names instead of multiple instances of the "author" field,
    • what is codi-font? (The "code" directive is semantic markup, not to be used just for a font change.)
    • don't define shortcut roles (e.g. "i" for "index") -- authors can use the "role" directive to define their favourite shortcuts in the document

don't define shortcut roles (e.g. "i" for "index") -- authors can use the "role" directive to define their favourite shortcuts in the document

But it comes from English source (en.py), this is confused.

Without problem, I work on it.

    Thank you for the update.
The patch (with some cosmetic changes) is now in the repository [r9451].

If you can confirm, that all translations are correct for the Valencian variant of Catalan
as-is, we should add a comment like

    # These translations can be used without changes for
    # Valencian variant of Catalan (use language tag "ca-valencia").
    # Checked by a native speaker of Valentian.

    in the files
and eventually add ""Natural Language :: Catalan (Valencian)" to the trove-classifiers in our metadata. (This would require to add this tag to the official Python trove classifiers (alongside Georgian, cf. https://github.com/pypa/trove-classifiers/issues/151).

Docutils 0.21 is just released containing the Catalan update.
However, adding "Catalan (Valencian)" to the list of supported languages led to a build failure because the tag is not canonical :(
We need a volunteer to providing a PR for the "Canonical source for classifiers on PyPI" (https://github.com/pypa/trove-classifiers). Cf. the patch submission with Georgian translations
[patches:#203] and the issue on github: https://github.com/pypa/trove-classifiers/issues/151

The official language classifiers are updated. https://github.com/pypa/trove-classifiers/pull/176

This may take a week or so to make its way to PyPI.org

The next Docutils release will officially support Catalan (Valencian).

    Thank you for the contribution.

Docutils 0.22 officially supports "Catalan (Valencian)".
Thanks to all who helped with translations, verifications, and the patch to pypa/trove-classifiers!
