I’m thinking fighting the US government on its opinions of this is a battle of logic you’re not going to win. GitHub is a barrier, GitLab is not. I vote GitLab. Also, defending GitHub you have not given a single reason why not GitLab, so, if they are equivalent, they why not GitLab? Personally, I don’t like leaving the office and reading GitHub on my phone just to do something.
