I'm using "DOC++ Version 3.2 PL2.6. Some of my modules end up with an "index.html" file, and some end up instead with ".html" (i..e nothing in front of the ".") in the filename. We're all stumped why. Has anybody seen this before? Hey, i am using windows XP. i've download doc++ and unzipped it, but i don't know how to install it. most of the files are not clickable. it looks like they are not used for windows operation system. but in the user guide, it says 'It also works on Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP and NT'. please advice. thanks sophie |

Hi all,
I am trying to insert a newline into my doc prepared with doc++.
I tried the following methods, but none of them works:
1. hit on <enter>
2. append '\n' at the end of the line
3. append \tex{\newline} at the end of the line
4. append <br> at the end of the line
Please let me know if there is any other ways to insert newline into doc++
document.

I'm trying to compile DOC++ 3.4.10 on Solaris 9. I have installed GCC = 3.4.0, GNU make 3.80, and Flex 2.5.4a. I'm getting the following error: portability.h:65:21: cstdlib.h: No such file or directory As correctly reported, I have found no "cstdlib.h" within /usr/include, = /usr/local/include, or within the DOC++ source code structure. Is there = a fix or a compile flag that should be invoked? Thanks!! Dale |

Hi Just wanted to say thank you for a brilliant program - should be more widely known and used by developers. Two minor problems: (1) Our coding standard uses underscores as the first letter of member variable names - when trying to generate a TeX source code listing we get lots of TeX errors about missing $ and math mode - do you know another way around this? Maybe you could automatically escape these with a backslash when generating the TeX output? The same must be true for the other characters such as #, $, % & and so on. (2) It would be really nice to be able to specify a directory to send the TeX output (like --dir does for the html output) ____________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Hi Programmers! I have a little suggestion for doc++ that would reduce runtime and=20 simplify the installation. Replace the use of gif image by the png format. Advantages are: * png is smaller and more versatile * no need to install pnm/ppm-tools * gs can directly generate nice png files with alpha tranparency (device = pngalpha) * The pngs are more readable and can thus be smaller (resfactor 1.8=20 instead of 4). This is closer to the natural text size, what leads to a=20 better layout. The changes are rather simple:=20 1. replace all occurrences of ".gif" in all source files by ".png" except=20 where it points to something like "icon.gif" 2. change tex2gif.cc like in the appended version. thats all. Of course it would be nicer to switch that with a configuration option,=20 that's of course a little bit more work to do... Please tell me if you could use my suggestions, so that I can throw away=20 my local version. Dear Mark,
In the LORENE project, we are using the following small code to
parse a source file and transform all lines
statement ; /// comment
into two lines:
/// comment
statement ;
You can compile this code simply by
g++ reorg_comments.C -o reorg_comments
and use it as follows:
reorg_comments sourcefile.h
It leaves the original file unchanged and produces a new file
"sourcefile.h_r" which is ready for Doc++ processing.

No. I made extensive changes to DOC++ back in 1998 which I've since lost. I sent them to Dragos (current developer) but I don't think he merged them in -- it would have been very hard since we'd both changed a lot of stuff and I'd split some files up. Tom Mark A.
