Excellent! I was able to download and run the Hikvision Video Management Software iVMS-4200 under docker on my Ubuntu 18.04 laptop in about 30 minutes! The background is that I have some Hikvision security cameras and an NVR. The Hikvision software is mostly windows based but I like to run on Ubuntu because I like open source software. I tried to get the Hikvision windows based software running on Ubuntu using wine following some youtube videos. But I could find no recipe which worked. The problem is likely inconsistency among different pieces of the software stack which arise over time after the solutions are documented on youtube, etc. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that this docker image work out of the box. Thank you Jayasundera.
