#12 Recognize if there's an input

I understand, there's a master and slave mode, but is it possible to switch from master to slave if there's an input coming from light board? I've the following setup:

light board  -> arduino dmx shield  ->  led bar 1
 (inactive)         (master)             (slave)

If the shield receives an input from light board master it should turn into slave mode:

 light board  -> arduino dmx shield  ->  led bar 1
  (master)           (slave)               (slave)
