I agree this would be nice to have.
Unluckily it's not basic functionality from Qt, neither is it trivial to build.
Of course I do have the same problem as you have and the way I currently approach it is to use a viewer such as geeqie. From there you can drag/drop onto LoadRaw.
So I suggest to keep this request low priority and meanwhile rely on the way I describe above.
