Hello, guys... First of all, I come here to announce that almost ALL old guys from this list have been unsubscribed form the Developer list (this msg is copied to the Admin's list too). The only one left is Bogdan - well, as far as I see, the only one interested in continuing, after my old msg about re-starting the project. Second, I welcome 2 new members to the team, Daniel (dan...@gm...) and Ben (lac...@gm...). Welcome!! Third: there are other 3 guys joining - I'll addd them to the list as soon as I know their real mail addresses (hehehe). Finally, the idea is to implement the old 'ACL' feature that we so much want, for so long time... :) As I was "designing" it, and also suggested by Daniel, we could use some scheme like in Apache, that uses its .htaccess files in protected dirs/sites... Well, that's it. More than this, let me see...I don't remmeber if I said, but now all the source and stuff are moved to Subversion, so we better use it instead of CVS - I'll disable it soon, if I can :) Reasons: uses simple httpS port with no need to install extra stuff (aka SSH) for encryption; works just like cvs, u'll probably see no big difference if you used tortoisecvs - tortoisesvn is almost the same thing...; and the best: firewalls won't block that port... unless u're in a freak company that doesn't allow you to access anywhere via https, or instead of blocking, it just "allows" some few sites... but at least this fixes my own problem for connection and the other way is so rare, that i hope everyone can use this repository with no problems :) [ ] Renato |

It's released! DLHttpd 0.6.2 ('NewWay += 2;') was just released. Congrats to the team. Following, some release notes: "This new release comes with a new look-and-feel... the main folder looks "clean", once we divided the project in packages... all the main classes are in the 'net' folder now. Main features: - 'packages', for better organization - new layout for 'directory listing' (for folders without index page) - no more need for commenting lines/copying files according to the OS you are using - 'OS recognition' :) Known bugs: - fix the 'directory listing'... once in https, it insists on coming back to http in wrong port, if not default ones are used. Bad! - logging facility is NOT fixed, yet!" Soon I'll make a few changes on the team, tasks, and directions for the project. Maybe this week. I suggest you guys to download the latest release... I may have changed something that would deal with your work. [ ] Renato "Project Manager" |

Ok, I just replied to him... the problem he had was the same I was having here yesterday, and talked to Bogdan in pvt mail. I just release the new DLHttpd: 0.6.1. Congrats to the team, specialy Bogdan for the new main features in this release: - possibility of "gzip" compression on the fly of all data on a site, between the server and the client - big pages load a lot faster! :))) - NPH-scripts are now allowed! They work - well, IE is a little buggy with them, but if you keep pressing F5 it will accept them too. LOL Also, I wrote a new README.TXT (it was getting ridiculous... even the version of the README was wrong...) [ ] Renato |

I'll accept your suggestion, then, take you off the team and re-distribute the tasks, if needed. When you're back to activity, feel free to contact me again, I'll be glad to re-insert you to the team. To the team, reading this in Cc, we have one developer less, if you need help, let me know. Also, Bogdan sent me some new files, with possibility for html-compression added, gzip, etc, I'm still gonna test it. Sorry for the delay, Bogdan, I'll try it pretty soon! Keep the good work you all! Well, maybe it can be useful. Wanna join the "task 8" group? Show us that packcage too... We'd like to know what it can do.... and how we can make this "html compression" stuff in dlhttpd... like... will we do it "on the fly"? Or send "gziped html" to the client if they already exist? Also, can we detect if the client browser accepts it or not (or it doesn't matter?) ? :) [ ] Renato bnll <bn...@ma...> wrote: Hello Renato and all, Renato, If you remember I wrote, that I've small ready code which allows to transfer gzippacked web-page if this opportunity supports clien browser. There can be it will it is useful in a task 8? -- Best regards, Bogdan bnll mailto:bn...@ma... ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
