Hi,

My AVI is 2.4Gb, not sure if that has anything to do with the problem. I'm pretty sure I used TiAR Time Lapse to generate the file. I successfully generated smaller files that could play just fine, but this large one would never play, and DivFix++ so far has been unable to fix it.

When I first apply DivFix++ to the file, I get a pop message saying "Can't find current position in file 'c:\capture.avi' (error:0 the operation completed successfully.)" In fact I got several of those the first time I ran it. Then in the log window I get a LOT of messages like this:

Processing file : CAPTURE1.AVI
Four CC is : X
Warning: Frame size is too big! Dropped
Error detected at byte: 2568
Skipped 1440248 bytes.

Then a lot of: "Skipped 1440232 bytes."
Up to: "Skipped 120320216 bytes."

And finally:
Info: File end reached.
New Stream Size : 8
Total Error Count : 1506
Total Frame Count : 0
Video Data Frames : 0
Audio Data Frames : 0

Then I say Fix and I get similar messages to above, plus
Log Window: "Error: AVI header size is false? Found: 115"
Popup: "Seek error on file 'C:\Capture.AVI' (large files not supported by stdio)"
Popup: "DivFix++.exe has stopped working Windows can check online for a solution to the problem"...

Do you have ideas of what I can do?

Oh, and I tried stripping the index and then Check Errors returns a lot of "Error detected at byte: 2560" over and over again.

Thanks for any help.

Jacob

    Don't know why.
If you could upload file somewhere, than I can download and analyze it by hand and place a fix.

I think it's probably too big to upload to SourceForge? I am working on getting more storage at Google Docs, but I will need your email address to share the file with you. Can you send me your address?
    Thanks

    Hello again,

I have uploaded my two videos to google docs and can share them with you given an email address.

A new piece of information: once I uploaded the AVI to google docs, I was able to play the file in the google docs player, but it was clipped at 2 minutes and I think both of the videos are longer than that.

    Thanks

OK, I just shared the file to you on Google Docs, and you should get a link to it in an email.

I tried uploading the file to an easier location like DropBox or something, but they have limits of 2Gb files, and mine is 2.4Gb.

    Thanks for the help.

Agaın there is power failure last night.
But 600 MB downloaded. I think it's ok for analyzing.
I also could play movie via VLC.

I analyze file and saw it's not compatible with DivFix++
    Firstly MOVI LIST size = 0 !

TiAR looks like doesn't set movi section size properly but leave zero.
This means AVI header is WRONG and divfix cannot fix AVI header corruptions..
Don't know which program do you use but it CANNOT generate proper AVI stream.
Second it doesn't compress frames. It's in RAW bmp. Since frames not compressed, it takes too much space. So each frame became > than 1MB and DivFix++ thinks that this frame size (>1MB) due file corruption and drops the frame...

Fix of file is possible by hand repair but it take too much time. Instead you have better to use proper program to generate avi stream from pictures.
    Regards.
