#1 How to build from sources

Doucmentation about how to build a .jar file from sources is missing (Although release.xml file is present), it is not straight forward, and clear.

I suspect my issue https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3380744&group_id=120124&atid=686477
has to do with the Ubuntu ditaa package. I tried to build from source, but I'm not a java dev and couldn't figure it out.
