DisCoBotS - A Distributed Collective Robotics Simulator

DisCoBotS (Distributed Collective Robotics Simulator) aims to be a robotics simulator with a focus on swarm and modular robotics that can be run in parallel on multiple computers to speed up calculations. Other features are: Fast calculation of sensor values by using graphics hardware, physics calculations, integrated python shell, simple xml-based scene setup, thread-based controllers.

See [Installing] for a quick installation guide.

This simulator was originally developed by Alexander Kettler (akettler@users.sf.net) from the Institute of Process Control and Robotics (IPR) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Its original purpose was to serve as a simulation tool for the new Wanda Mini-Robot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqMP_AIkDj8). Both works where supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the Research Training Group GRK 1194: “Self-organizing Sensor-Actuator-Networks” and the KIT-Project KITCoRoL.
