I am a sys admin for a public school district. I would like to get DIMDIM 1.6 alpha integrated with our Moodle installation on its own server. I've had it working in a trusted environment, but at the district level, I need to know every port that needs to be opened and every protocol that needs to be enabled for this to happen. Both ports 80 and TCP1935 are opened between the client and the server. Everything is working, except for desktop sharing and pretty much anything that requires the publisher. Also, when a client tries to host for the first time, the DIMDIM publisher downloads and installs, but the browser has to be refreshed to continue, it does not start the session automatically.
I appreciate any help that you can give! This is such an awesome tool!

Thanks for your interest towards Dimdim. If i understand your question correct, you need to integrate your local Dimdim server with existing Moodle installation.
The ports that needs to be opened against firewall are 80, 1935 and conference server port. Could you please provide some more detailed information about the desktop sharing failure and the wrapper.log.

- Meeting starts (this issue looks resolved, I did not have to refresh the page to start the meeting).
- Click "Share Desktop Screen".
- Confirm Desktop Sharing - click "OK".
* After the blue bar shows up, the desktop background is set to blue without an image.

Thanks for the information. I hope you were able to deploy the moodle integration pack and start meetings.
Please confirm if port 1935 is opened or not. From the machine where you are starting the meeting, could you please telnet to <Dimdim server IP address> / port 1935 and let me know the output.

-Rajesh

Hi,
Thanks for your interest towards Dimdim. If i understand your question correct, you need to integrate your local Dimdim server with existing Moodle installation.
You can download the Dimdim1.6-Moodle1.9 Integration pack from https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=176809.
You need to follow the steps provided in the following documents:
1. Integration guide (can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/dimdim/Moodle-Dimdim_Integration_Guide_1.pdf?use_mirror=nchc\)
2. User guide (can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/dimdim/User_Guide_for_Dimdim_Web_Meeting_module_in_Moodle_1_9.pdf?use_mirror=nchc\)
The ports that needs to be opened against firewall are 80, 1935 and conference server port. Could you please provide some more detailed information about the desktop sharing failure and the wrapper.log.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. I hope you were able to deploy the moodle integration pack and start meetings.
Please confirm if port 1935 is opened or not. From the machine where you are starting the meeting, could you please telnet to <Dimdim server IP address> / port 1935 and let me know the output.
Regards,
-Rajesh
Rajesh,
It coundn't connect. I went ahead and tried a netstat -vatn and the port does not show in the TCP list ether. If you have forum admin, could you remove the email address in my above post? Thanks!
Just a quick add - I tried to tel net from a laptop and I tried the netstat -vtan from the server side.
