A simple utility that allows Inkscape to be used as a plot
digitizer. The workflow is as follows. This is useful when a plot is
available in vectorized form (e.g. PDF, EPS, PS, ...).
1: Open the plot to digitize in Inkscape (any format that Inkscape can
read works).
2: If any of the datasets are bitmaps the "Trace Bitmap" function in
Inkscape can be used to turn it into a vectorized path.
3: Ensure all data paths are continuous lines (no curves).
4: Label each data path with its desired name. This can be done by
setting "Id" from "Object Properties".
5: Draw two lines with "Id"s of "xaxis" and "yaxis" defining the x and
y-axis respectively. Ensure that the start point and end point from
the plot scale is known for each of these two lines.
6: Save the SVG.
7: Open the SVG via "Svg('filename')".
8: Set the plot scale via the "axis" command. For example
"Svg.axis('x', 1, 100, True)" sets the x-axis beginning value as 1,
its end value as 100, and ind
