Hi Vikko,
I'll be copying digimend-devel from now on, so others can benefit from our
discussion. I should've done it from the start. Please keep the maillist in
the CC by answering using "Reply to all".

You don't need to install it, but you need to build it.
First you'll need to install build dependencies:
sudo apt-get install autotools-dev autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libxml2-dev
Then unpack the archive and go into the resulting directory and build the
package:
./bootstrap && ./configure && make
Please send the output, if it fails.
If it succeeds, you'll then be able to run usbhid-dump from the same directory
as such:
src/usbhid-dump
You'll be able to dump input from your tablet as such:
src/usbhid-dump -m 0458:501a -es
If it works, please proceed with "Collect raw samples" and further from the
diagnostic collection HOWTO, using the command above, redirecting the output
to files, as described.
Thank you.

Unfortunately, the process of compiling failed. The problem was in configure phase. "..checking for LIBUSB... no configure: error: Package requirements (libusb-1.0 >= 1.0.0) were not met: No package 'libusb-1.0' found.." I was also unable to install the libusb package. Here's the output sudo apt-get install libusb Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package libusb I already do apt-get update with no error. What should I do? Manually download the package? Where can I download? I mean, from multiverse or universe? Or else? I moved to the directory where I compile them (using cd) and then excecute the program using sudo (since the system won't allow me to double click or using ./) Did I do something wrong? This is almost right with the exception that you were executing the
distribution version of usbhid-dump, not the custom-built one.
If your current directory is "src" in the source directory, then to run the
custom-built version you need to execute it like this:
sudo ./usbhid-dump -m 0458:501a -es
Note the "./" in front, meaning execute the binary in the current directory.
Could you please re-run it?
Thank you.

Hi Vikko, On 01/09/2015 04:13 AM, Vikko Okviandho wrote: > Sorry for the late reply. Got additional works. But here it is. The mouse > raw data. Thank you. Now, I see that mouse behavior differs significantly from the previous version. First of all, reports are relative instead of absolute, which is good. The report ID has changed as well. All of that is no problem to handle in the driver and I could get a test version for you as soon as tomorrow. However, could you please confirm that you've taken the traces with the custom-built usbhid-dump for mouse as well? Thank you. Nick |

Yes I did use the custom usbdump. The output of mouse with the buit-in usbdump was attached to the message I sent at 15/12/2014 (or 12/15/2015 if you're using kind of American date format). I actually made the mistake of looking at the old dumps instead. That's what comes from trying to rush things. So, you'll have to live with absolute mouse, then. Although, I guess you would probably prefer a regular mouse instead. Here is a draft version of the driver supporting your tablet: https://github.com/DIGImend/digimend-kernel-drivers/archive/master.zip Could you please try it? Nick |

I have no issue with the mouse. Because I don't use the mouse :D Honestly, I only need the pen support so I can use it to draw in Inkscape and GIMP. I'll try it. How to use? Do I need to patch the kernel or something? And if so, how do I patch? Sorry for the ignorance, but I am pretty much limited in technical stuffs. Okay. I built it successfully and installed it. Plus I already do a reboot. Questions are : 1. How do I know that the driver is working or not? 2. I plugged the tablet and tried to do any click with the pen. But nothing happened. It's behaving just like before. Able to move the pointer, but no clicks. What to do next? I forgot to add udev and modprobe configuration to the package, when I added the hid-kye driver. The problem is the directory name. It shouldn't contain spaces and
parentheses. Rename it to, say, "digimend-kernel-drivers-2".

Okay. The compilation succeeded. The installation succeeded. But the
pointer no more moves at all. Tried to reboot twice and didn't help.

OK. Could you please send the output of "/sbin/modinfo hid-kye" and
"cat /var/log/syslog", after plugging the tablet in?
Also the output of this command:
sudo bash -c 'for f in /sys/kernel/debug/hid/0003:0458:*/rdesc; do echo "$f"; cat "$f"; done'
Thank you.
