I run cygwin 1.3.22 under win2k sp3. I used 1.9.7 for several days, and today tested 1.9.9, they have same problem. My setup is simply extract the source, run ./configure then make, and then make install. After installation, the daemon will starts normally, but will terminate itself right after a single query, following are the error msgs. (main): :E: can't accept(main) :E: can't acceptmain: No children (main) main: No children Only with debug "nofork" option could dictd run continuously. And in announce says in 1.9.9 we could use cygwin inetd. But strangely it didn't work on my machine. Every inetd try to start dictd, dictd simply crashes.("Memory could not be read" blahblah) in my inetd.conf: dictd stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/sbin/dictd dictd -i (seems doesn't matter with wait or nowait, I tried both.) And the error message before crash: :E: writing 100 of 100 bytes: retval = -1, errno = 9 (Bad file descriptor) So I went wrong somewher or ?? |
